Novell Cluster Services for OES2 SP2 Linux
To be delivered by: Mark Robinson & Tim Heywood
When it comes to high availability, Novell Cluster Services has
long been known as a leader in its field. Now, backed by the power
of OES2 SP2 Linux, it has progressed to the next level. NCS for
Linux has all the features of NCS for NetWare and adds the ability
to cluster many common Linux services and Linux only OES features.
With this change of platform comes a different mindset for installation,
configuration and management. OES2 SP2 also saw a major rewrite
of NCS, improving performance, reducing server load and reducing
resource failover times between nodes.
This three-day, hands on, course will take you through the fundamentals
of successfully creating and maintaining a cluster on OES2 SP2 Linux.
During the course you will install and configure your own three
node cluster, carrying out manual and autoYaST node builds. You
will learn how to configure a wide variety of cluster resources,
including:
- NSS with NCP, CIFS and NFS client access for file sharing
- Dynamic Storage Technology
- Novell iPrint
- Novell eDirectory integrated DNS
- Novell eDirectory integrated DHCP
- EVMS/Linux filesystem based resources
As part of the course, you will learn best practice methodologies
for cluster deployment, maintenance and troubleshooting. Real world
deployment scenarios such as SAN multipathing and network card bonding
(teaming) to further improve cluster resilience will be covered.
The course presents you with a great opportunity to learn from
NDS8 consultants Tim
Heywood and Mark
Robinson who have considerable real world experience in this
field.
