File Sharing in Novell Nterprise Linux Services 1.0

The Samba server has become the preferred way on many platforms to share files and printers, and it is supported by all Windows clients. With Samba installed on a Linux server, the Linux server can provide the same functionality as a Windows server: with Samba, Linux can provide SMB based (Windows) file and print services to end-users, and there are even claims that the Samba server does this faster than Windows. In this new AppNote, Sander van Vugt explains how to use it with Nterprise Linux Services 1.0. http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/nnlsmag/features/a_file_sharing_nls.html

The new Certified Linux Engineer training path is now released and the practicum exam is in its final trail stages.  The Novell CLE Practicum exam tests your real world application and knowledge of Linux and Novell Nterprise Linux Services.  Through its practical, live, hands-on certification testing approach, the Novell CLE Practicum not only determines if you know “what to do” but if you actually “do it”, validating to peers, management and talents scouts your Linux knowledge and practical skill set.

MindWorks will be offering Course 3015: Novell Nterprise Linux Services from the Summer this year at our usual excellent rates. The training path strongly recommends taking the LPI Level 1 Certification prior to Course 3015: Novell Nterprise Linux Services.

GroupWise Advisor Summit

Advisor Media has been organizing Summits on many subjects for years and in close cooperation with Novell the third GroupWise Advisor Summit has recently been held in Orlando (USA).

During these Advisor Summits well known experts from Novell and other companies present in-depth sessions about GroupWise and GroupWise related subjects, with well known speakers like Howard Tayler (Novell, Product Manager GroupWise), Danita Zanrè (Caledonia), Tay Kratzer (Novell), Eric Raff (Novell) and many others.

Attendees of these Summits are very involved in a busy day-program, a partner market and “lunch-with-the-experts”; even some evenings can be filled with GroupWise  or with a bit of relaxation in the prime resort location which houses Advisor Summit.
