An Introduction to ZENworks for Desktops
Part 1 - Installation
A demonstration of the installation of Zenworks. The trainer
will demonstrate the installation of the back end server,
the middle tier, how to check the middle tier was installed,
then the workstation agents, and lastly the installation of
the C1 update
Part 2 - Policy theory
An explanation of the theory of how policies work, Inheritance,
policy states and determining effective policies. We show
examples of this with precreated users and settings.
Part 3 - General Policy implementation
Details on search policies, server policies.
Part 4 - User Policies
Detail on the settings and a demonstration of the effects
of the policies, covering all, but detailing dynamic local
user policy, remote control policy, windows desktop preferences
policy and windows group policy.
Part 5 - Workstation policies
Creating the workstation package, Remote control packages,
Windows group policy packages, workstation inventory packages,
workstation manager agent.
Part 6 - Application Distribution.
Viewing the Applications via Nal, Application explorer and
Application browser. Configuration options for all of these.
Distributing an application to users.
Part 7 - Configuring application delivery options.
Configuring the distribution options for an application,
such as application dependancies, environment variables, system
requirements, automated distribution of applications, Lights
out distribution.
Part 8 - Running the application, ensuring the applications
availability
Initial running, repair and uninstall. Application fault
tolerance.
